PRK Surgery!!

On October 16th I made one of my biggest dreams come true!  I had PRK surgery done!!!! PRK is very similar to Lasik, but more intense and the recovery is rougher and takes longer.  Jaime drove me to my surgery appointment and Jared picked me up to take me home afterwards. The surgery itself was not scary AT ALL. They did give me a vallum beforehand but it really just felt like a simple eye doctor appointment where they stick machines up close to your eye. You can't feel any of it and I truly didn't feel a second of discomfort or fear. I could immediately see the vent on the ceiling above me after the surgery and could read signs across the room! Amazing!!
The first couple of days at home were kind of rough; I was really uncomfortable and stayed in my dark bedroom for two days because my eyes were so sensitive to the light. I would come out at night and Teya would take me on walks around the neighborhood so that I could get out. I couldn't see well enough to read or watch TV or look at my phone, so Teya would put podcasts on for me to listen to while I laid in bed.  It was kind of scary those first two days, thinking, "What have I done?! What if I have blinded myself?!? Glasses weren't all that bad!!" Teya and Jared did a great job taking care of me and Jared did a great job at feeding everyone and holding down the fort while I recovered. By the 3rd day, I was no longer uncomfortable and could spend time in the rest of the house as long as the shades were down and I had my sun glasses on, but I couldn't keep my eyes open until day 4 or 5. I had to sleep with shields on my eyes for a week and put several drops in my eyes every day for weeks. I couldn't drive for a week, so Jaime drove me to my follow up appointment at the end of the first week. Once I was able to drive again though, I went back to work and life has been good ever since! The only two complaints I have are: 1- My near vision went bad immediately after the surgery. The first doctor I went to for a consultation told me this would happen, that I would need reading glasses right away if I had the surgery done, but the doctor I chose told me it might not happen right away, but definitely in the next couple of years. Since I'm in my 40's anyways and would need reading glasses within the next few years anyways, I went with it. The first doctor was right and I can't see tiny print up close or my fingernails or anything tiny up close. 2- The vision in my right eye isn't as sharp as my left eye.  It is still considered 20/20, as is my left eye, but my left eye is much sharper and my right eye vision starts getting fuzzy with things close up sooner than my left eye. They said there is nothing to be done about this.
