Nancy, Melanie, Melissa and I all went to see Downton Abbey the movie when it came out!

Nolan's soccer team.
Love this picture of Dallin and our neighbor Manti.
Dallin made an interception at this game! It was the last game of the season, score was tied, the last 30 seconds of the game, at the 10 yard line. If the offense had made that touchdown, they would have won the game, but because of Dallin's interception, they went into overtime and Dallin's team won! It was SO exciting when he made the interception, everyone was going nuts!!!
Nolan started feeling his chest/breathing tightening up on Sunday.
Monday morning he really wasn't feeling well.
I took him to the pediatrician because his inhaler was about to run out and we needed a refill. The pediatrician gave him two nebulizer treatments but he got even worse, his O2 saturation levels were in the 80's, he was lethargic, so the pediatrician sent us the the ER. At the ER they gave him a steroid, more albuteral treatments, chest x-rays, you name it, and once again the doc couldn't decide for sure to admit him or not. Then his O2 saturation levels dropped again so he decided to admit him. He stayed 2 days and one night. That first night, he couldn't sleep much because his chest was hurting him so much, which was scary for me and would have really scared me if we were at home, but they said that's what happens with asthma...? That was the first time he'd experienced that.
Teya and Jared came to visit us at the hospital and Teya went down to the play room with us where we played some games. Poor Nolan had an IV and oxygen machine attached to him that we had to roll down there.
After a rough Monday night, Tuesday his personality was back and he felt SO much better! They officially diagnosed him with asthma and gave us a preventative daily steroid inhaler that he has to take twice a day, so that when he does have these episodes, the steroid should prevent him from spiraling to this point again. Also, we thought his trigger was pest control, since that's what we thought triggered his last bad episode 2 years ago, but he wasn't around any this time, so we don't know what his trigger is beyond getting sick.
Rue's first experience with snow!
Nolan was VERY into printing pictures and then tracing them, for a while. Dallin and his friend Braxton got into it too, and then Dallin and Nolan hung the ones they'd traced up all over their rooms.
Teya making Sunday dinner. Looks like she's shredding chicken but I don't remember what she's making.
Marlow and I love to play Uno together. When we are doing his schoolwork and he gets distracted, I always remind him that if he focuses and we get everything done, we'll have time for Uno at the end. This always works on him and gets him back on track. Uno is also one of the rare times I see his true laugh, it's so fun!
For work I took Marlow to a Halloween party for special needs adults. He had a blast!
Costume parade at school. It is so important to them to see mom there! Nolan is Bendy and Dallin is Marshmellow.
Then I helped out in Nolan's classroom Halloween party.
The kids all say this is the best part of Halloween: the goofy Halloween food that I make!
View from our back deck. It just never gets old!

Ugh - asthma is the worst! Have you tried allergy testing? That helped us know what would make Ashlyn flare up so there weren't any surprises. Also, we took her off inflammatory foods for awhile - mainly gluten and milk. Once she noticed how much better she feels not eating them, she hardly eats them now.
