The night before his birthday, Teya and I decorated. Teya made him an awesome sign and then we had a ton of fun thinking up signs to print out and hang up. He and Nolan recently discovered the movie Napoleon Dynamite and OFTEN quote the line from it, "Your mom goes to college!" So Teya and I were dying laughing thinking of "Your mom" birthday related sayings to put on the signs.
Teya gave him a generic Fit Bit, which he was VERY surprised and excited about! He looked up at her in shock and said, "You got me this?!?"
We got him a nice, pro scooter, but I guess I don't have any pictures of it!
Camilla and Teya made him his birthday breakfast: waffles with strawberries!
Teya and Camilla also made him his cake!
For his little birthday party, we took him and some of his friends to the dollar theater to see "A Dog's Purpose" and it was the saddest movie ever!!!
I kept telling Dallin that his present was supposed to arrive that day, so when we got back from the movies, there was a smallish package on our doorstep, but I knew it wasn't his present (his scooter). He and his friends thought it was his present though so ran around the house looking for where I put the package, and then when they found it, they spent forever feeling it through the package (soft envelope), trying to figure out what it was. Stockton said, "You guys, it's obviously a huge doughnut!" Hahaha!! Finally Manti couldn't take it anymore and ripped the package open, and they all looked at the contents with disappointed confusion, as it was a long spool of wire that Jared had ordered for something. Oh my gosh, I laughed and laughed and laughed!!!!
After cake, the boys all went out in the backyard and played flag football.
Happy Birthday to my sweet boy!!!! We love him so much!!!Things about Dallin at 11 years old:
-His favorite/best friend is still Nolan. He would rather play with him over any friend. His other closest friends are still Tanner, Britton and Manti.
-His new favorite sport is football.
-He still hates to read.
-He loves school and likes his teacher, Mrs. Johnson.
-He is a hard worker, usually does any work around the house that I ask him to without complaint.
-Has quite a temper.
-Loves to talk to us, A LOT!
-Loves to be with his family
-Extremely affectionate, asks to snuggle us every day.
-Likes to play Mindcraft, not so into Fortnite anymore
-Loves to ride his scooter
-Still can't stand to sleep by himself so he sleeps in Nolan's bed with him.
-Can often be heard explaining things to Nolan or teaching him things. Also good about teaching Nolan to choose the right, or why he should or shouldn't do something. For example, he has explained to Nolan several times why it's important that Mom and Dad give them chores, because it is important for them to learn to be hard workers now so that when they are grown ups, they will know how to work hard and have a job, so that they can have a house, etc. If they are lazy now, they will grow to be bums and won't have a house or anything.
-Still has a hard time going to bed at night.
-Is fine being at home talking to his family or playing with Nolan instead of playing with friends any day.
-Has enjoyed watching almost all of the Rocky movies (the filtered versions) with Jared every night for the past couple of weeks.
-Can do a flip on the trampoline.
-Is known for being really good at 4 square during recess.
-Is friends with some girls in addition to his guy friends at school now.
-Is a little small for his age.
-Joined the after school Ballroom club and enjoys it.
-Hates practicing the piano.
What a fun party, happy birthday to Dallin!!! YOUR MOM is awesome!!
