We stopped by Crumbl one day with Teya's friend Abby, and I offered them a choice between two things and this is how they pow-wow'ed to discuss their decision.
Books I read that month or so.
Playing Frisbee Golf while at work with one of my favorite clients, Cameron.
Apples to Apples- maybe this was Easter?
In an effort to continue to figure out Dallin's reading I decided to try and have Dallin evaluated by a different Vision Therapist to see what he said. He said the same thing about Dallin having tracking problems and also said he had Convergence Insufficiency, and recommended Vision Therapy. We then found out we were eligible for vision insurance through Jared's work and they weren't going to charge us anything for it, so I decided to take him back to the first vision therapist since insurance would cover that exam, to see what he said a year and a half later. The first vision therapist was much more high tech than the 2nd one, so that was another reason I wanted to check with him one more time. He said Dallin's tracking had gotten worse. Both recommended vision therapy, but the 1st one is also very knowledgable about dyslexia, so he tested Dallin for dyslexia too. He said he did score "on the dyslexia spectrum" in one area (the area of dyslexia I always thought Dallin might have). He said he thought Dallin would benefit from dyslexia tutoring as well as vision therapy and referred me to a site he trusted for that. He not only spent quite a bit of time talking to me about all of this and showing me websites, but he also called a Neuro-psychologist and discussed the dyslexia theory with her, because he said he could call her for free but it would cost me a lot of money to call her. He did so much for us at this appointment, I felt SO grateful!!! When I thanked him, he said, "We just want kids reading, so whatever it takes." So we decided to start Vision Therapy at the first office.
On a walk with Tucker, he loves to dig in this sand pile.
At work with my other favorite client, Marlow, working on "learning activities with him (above) and softball with him (below). I'm so impressed with how much he can do!
Below are pictures of Teya in her school play, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown. We were lucky that for this part of the play, she was literally right in front of us! She is the the one in overalls, far left, but in the shadows.
The first time mowing our grass!!! It took 45 minutes for two of us to mow and Jared to weed-wack! Time for a riding lawnmower!
Tucker wined and watched us out the window the whole time.
Easter Egg Hunt, the first one we were able to have in our own yard!!!
