My Bday, New Puppy, and Work

For my birthday back in May, I worked, (which is fun so that's fine!), then that evening when Jared and my parents came over, we did presents and then my parents, Jared and I went to Mod's Pizza (my favorite place) and Crumbl, instead of cake.

I LOVE this build your own pizza!!

When we stopped by Crumbl, my mom told them it was my birthday and they gave me a free cookie!  We also brought some home for the kids.  It was a fun night out with my parents!

 NEW PUPPY!!!
So we had been talking for a while  now about getting a female goldendoodle and breeding her since they sell for so much these days, and I had been looking for just the right one at a good price for a while.  Also, Tucker has had some aggression issues that we hoped to fix through a dog trainer, but since it only got better, but didn't go away, we were hoping that the kids would fall in love with a new puppy and we could give Tucker away.  (They are SO SO SO deeply attached to him, especially Teya, and then Nolan).  We finally found the perfect girl puppy!!  We researched how to test a puppy for sensitivity and aggression issues like Tucker has, and this girl passed with flying colors when Jared went to meet her.  Teya and I Facetimed him while he was meeting her and testing her out, but we surprised the boys with her.  She was SOOOOO cute!!!

Teya wanted her to sleep in her room that night, but she cried all night, so Teya pulled her cage into our spare bedroom and shut the door.  Crying through the night only lasted less than a week, and she never cried that first day like Tucker did.  Tucker wanted to play with her SO badly that first couple of days but she wasn't interested in him, but after a few days, she was ALL about it!!!  She wouldn't leave him alone after that and wrestles him CONSTANTLY now!  Sometimes we have to pick one of them up to give him a break!!
At first we had all decided to name her Bella that night, but the next day while Jared was at work, I thought of the name Roo/Rue!  When I mentioned it to the kids, they all loved it!  Jared still liked Bella better but let us go with Rue.  We call her Rue Rue a lot, she is too cute!
She has been an absolute joy and the kind of dog we thought we were getting when we brought Tucker home!  It's been weird though that none of us have bonded with her like we did with Tucker though.  The kids and I were SOOOO in love with Tucker right away, like very deeply in love and attached to him.  I knew I couldn't love him as much as I loved my kids, but it was honestly pretty close!!  We haven't felt that way about this puppy at all, but we do love having her!

Also, here's a collage of pictures from my work for that month: I mostly work with Cameron and Marlow, because their schedules and mine match up (I only work from 8-2 when the kids are in school).  With Cameron, we often meet up with other Day Services clients, so there are groups of us in some pictures.
From top left to right: paper origami with Day Services clients (one of the staff came and taught us how to make birds), basketball with Cameron, bowling with Cameron, volunteering at Tabitha's Way with Marlow, Frisbee golf with Cameron, softball with Day Services clients, volunteering at Tabitha's Way with Cameron, educational games at the library with Cameron, helping Marlow fill out an application for Chick-fil-A, bowling with Day Services clients, on the row machines at the gym/rec center with Marlow, job coaching Cameron at work while he washes dishes.   Have I mentioned that I love my job?!?
